Debt payoff spreadsheet

Free debt snowball and avalanche spreadsheet

Download a month-by-month payoff plan built from your own debts, as a spreadsheet for Google Sheets or Excel.

Loading your saved numbers…

How this works

  • The file comes from the same simulation as the payoff planner: each month adds a month of interest (APR ÷ 12), pays every minimum, then puts the rest on the priority debt.
  • Avalanche puts the highest APR first; snowball puts the smallest balance first.
  • Each row is one month, with every debt's payment, interest and balance, plus totals.
  • It assumes no new charges, fees or rate changes. Download it again when your statements change.
  • The file is created in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Common questions

What's in the spreadsheet?

One row per month with each debt's payment, interest and remaining balance, plus the month's totals, until everything is paid off.

How do I open it in Google Sheets?

Go to sheets.new, then choose File, Import, Upload and pick the downloaded file. Excel and Numbers open it directly.

Should I pick snowball or avalanche?

Either works in the file. Avalanche usually costs less interest; snowball pays off your first debt sooner.

Does the spreadsheet update itself?

No. It's a snapshot of your plan today. When balances, rates or your budget change, update your debts and download a new file.

Is the information I enter saved or sent anywhere?

No sign-up is needed. Your numbers are saved only in this browser, and the other tools on the site reuse them.
